What do we do in our community

 

RRRSI Inc. is committed to participate in our local community and to encourage greater interaction and collaboration across our community.


To contribute to the overall fabric of our community is
of vital importance to us and assist in breaking down barriers and to see everyone, regardless of disability, race, gender, religion as a person who is able to contribute.

 

Some of our activities, events and projects include

  • Establishing the first community garden in our region
  • Assist local businesses with recycling
  • Celebrating and holding of major events to celebrate the ‘international day of people with a disability
  • Participation in mainstream sporting competitions
  • Meals on wheels
  • Volunteering at the salvos
  • Mosaic art
  • Participating in major local events (pageants etc.)
  • Source our products and services from local businesses
  • Promote the region as a beautiful location to visit
  • Promote ability while acknowledging disability
  • Support access, transport and participation improvements

Transport

We have a fleet of vehicles, including a car, vans and busses that are all air conditioned and available to assist our clients with their requirements. This can include pick up and drop off to attend our services or transport to medical or personal appointments anywhere within the state.

 

Costs

Costs vary depending on the service you access and funding available to assist with costs.

We can help you by:

  • Linking you with the relevant Government Department to seek eligibility and/or funding
  • Offering information and support
  • Meet with you and your family member
  • Discussing your options of services
  • Referral to additional services if appropriate
  • Assist with transportation

How can you access our service

A referral from Disability services (formerly Disability SA) is required to access funded services. Self funded access or access by means of alternative funding (other agencies) is available. All access to our services is subject to an intake assessment to determine our suitability and ability to cater for your needs.

 

Support Workers

Qualified, skilled and caring workers are
employed to support clients.
On induction to the Service a Police check is carried out on all support workers.


All staff have the following qualifications;

  • Community Services Certificate or equivalent
  • Senior First Aid Certificate
  • Credentialed in Medication
  • Accredited in Manual Handling
  • Mandatory Reporting
  • Duty of Care
  • Mental health first aid
