Day Options Services

Our Day Options program gives people with disabilities the opportunity to participate in developmental programs, integrate into the community and form friendships while having FUN.

Day Options Program

The program runs each Monday to Friday from 9am – 3pm. Participants have a three – week break over Christmas and return in mid-January.
The Day Options Program has a developmental focus. Each participant has an individual program with clear outcomes. The plan is developed after consultation with the family, participant and our service. We offer individual programs as well as group activities so if a participant has a particular goal, we can tailor the program to work towards achieving that particular goal. We offer staff to client ratios of 1:1, 1:2, 1:3 and 1:4 depending on the participants needs and funding amounts.

Costs

The participant contributes $15 a day to access the Program (Access fee $7 and Transport $8). This fee incorporates all resource material and activities including transport to and from the centre plus outings. The transport portion can be subtracted from the $15 fee, and we can arrange for it to be charged to your NDIS Transport Funding in your plan. From time to time the group attends local events which may incur an additional cost. For example, they may visit the Chaffey Theatre, the Coffee Club once a month or out for a BBQ lunch. All support costs will be charged to your NDIS plan funding under Core Supports. You can choose on your Service Agreement how much funding you would like to go towards your supports, and we can tailor to your budget. We can provide you with a quote for supports if needed.

Transport

Participants living in all Riverland towns can receive a transport service using Riverland Respite’s fleet of vehicles which are wheelchair accessible. Some participants living in Renmark or Berri may choose to receive transport by the Riverland Bus Service. The bus stop is in walking distance to our facility.

Communication

A communication book is given to participants when they join the Program. The book is a communication tool between families and support workers.

Staff

All Riverland Respite staff possess NDIS Screening for Disability Services Employment and Working with Children Check. They have Senior First Aid Certificate and undertake Medication Administration training on a regular basis.
