Recreation and Holiday Programs

RRRSI’s Recreation Program gives people with disabilities the opportunity to participate in a range of sporting and leisure activities. As a result, participants make friends, achieve personal goals, keep fit and enhance their quality of life. All recreation activities have a unique price calculated to cover the cost of resource material, meals, tickets, accommodation and transport. The transport portion can be subtracted from the activity fee, and we can arrange for it to be charged to your NDIS Transport Funding in your plan. All support costs will be charged to your NDIS plan funding under Core Supports. You can choose on your Service Agreement how much funding you would like to go towards your supports, and we can tailor to your budget. We can provide you with a quote for supports if needed.

 Social Outings

RRRSI has a Diner’s Club for participants to attend a venue in the Riverland for a meal on a Saturday night. This is a very popular activity and a group of 30 to 40 participants attend on a regular basis. We also have a Social Club that is at lunch time on the weekend where the participants plan upcoming activities usually in the Riverland area like sporting events, the Carp Frenzy, or Field Days. For people who like to get their groove on there is Gum Tree Disco at Loxton Historical Village every 2 months. Every year we do a Halloween Party, dress up in costumes and decorate the vehicles. At Christmas time we go to Loxton Light Up and have an end of year Christmas Party.

Ten Pin Bowls is another popular activity that is held once every month and participants travel to a Ten Pin Bowls centre in either Mildura or The Barossa Valley.

Regular weekly or fortnightly events include…Indoor Lawn Bowls in winter and evening outdoor lawn bowls in the warmer weather. In Springtime we do indoor Basketball, and in the summer, we do weekly swimming groups at Renmark. 8ball is another weekly program held on Wednesday nights.
